Dear Teachers and Students: The Union League Civic & Arts Foundation is proud to present the 2007 Program Rules and Applications Book. The book contains information about how to apply for the following: Classical Music Scholarship Competition, Creative Writing Competition, Democracy in Action Award, Jazz Composition Competition, Jazz Improvization Competition, and Visual Arts Competition. This material is also available for download on our website at www.civicandarts.org. I am pleased to announce that we have INCREASED OUR AWARD AMOUNTS in the Creative Writing Competition, Visual Arts Competition, Jazz Improvisation Competition and Classical Music Scholarship Competition. Also, please note the following: The Fiction Competition for Young Writers now includes one-act plays and creative non-fiction. The Composition Competition now focuses on jazz music. Our goal is to give as many students as possible an opportunity to apply for our programs. Please make copies of the guidelines and application forms and give them to whoever is interested.
