OUR MISSION:
The Union League Civic & Arts Foundation develops and promotes
programs that support education, civic responsibility and the arts
for children and young adults in the Chicago Metropolitan Area.
Our Scope:
Our emphasis is on programs the Civic & Arts Foundation initiates,
develops and funds. The Civic & Arts Foundation’s programs target
financial need and merit.
Our History:
In 1949, with the spearheading influence of Dr. Edward Moss Martin
(1895-1985), the Foundation was established as a public, not-for-profit
charitable and educational organization. The Foundationís mission
is one of community enrichment.
Our Funding:
The Union League Civic & Art Foundationí’s programs are funded
from tax-deductible donations, largely from the membership of the
Union League Club of Chicago, and also from the public throughout
the United States. In addition, fundraising events are organized annually,
the most important being the Annual Ball and Auction.
Our Beneficiaries:
The awardees of our unique internally run cultural scholarship competitions
are promising young people enrolled in high schools, art schools,
colleges, and universities with remarkable talents in the disciplines
of music, visual arts and creative writing. The Foundation’s
civic programming enhances opportunities and civic responsibility
for Chicagoí’s young people.
The Front Line:

Coordinator, bring twenty years of experience in managing and nurturing
youth oriented programs. They work under the Foundation’s Board of
