Foundation members enjoy certain privileges such as being invited to exciting Foundation events, participating and voting on committees and playing a direct role in controlling the destiny of the Foundation’s funds. In addition, members are kept informed of the Foundation’s programs, activities and events through our newsletter. Of course, they are also listed and thanked in our Annual Report, which is published in the Union League Club’s magazine, The State of the Union.

However, the most important benefit of membership is the enormous support given to children and young adults all over the Chicago metropolitan area. The more support you give, the farther we can extend our reach into Chicago’s communities and the more young lives we can touch. Your support of our civic programs will allow more of Chicago’s young people to become contributing members of society by providing opportunities for them to enter military and college programs, and to participate in enriching educational activities. Your support of our cultural programs will nurture their talents and encourage them to pursue their artistic dreams in visual arts, creative writing, poetry, classical music and jazz.

In a day when budget constraints are taking art opportunities and civic programming out of our schools, we feel a real duty to continue our mission of developing and promoting programs that support education, civic responsibility and the arts for children and young adults in the Chicago metropolitan area. However, such innovative programs are costly.

That is why I hope you will consider joining the Union League Civic & Arts Foundation and taking an active role in improving the lives of Chicago’s young people for generations to come.
