In 2005 and 2006, the Union League Civic & Arts Foundation is working on the following projects to enhance the Chicago community: Boys & Girls Club Speech Competition – This partnership with the Boys & Girls Club will encourage Chicago’s young people to make positive contributions to society through their written speech and presentation skills. Civil Air Patrol – This partnership provides young cadets with scholarships for flight and summer encampment. The Civil Air Patrol specializes in aerospace education, emergency services and cadet programs. Public Illinois Law Initiative (PILI) ­ This partnership with PILI will fund the Union League Civic & Arts Foundation Internship, which will sponsor a law student intern to work at a Chicago area public interest agency.
