View/download Transitions Divorce Booklet Transitions Guide­ Helping Children Through Divorce Do you know that Cook county has the highest number of divorces in the entire country? The Civic & Arts Foundation has developed this guide to help parents to understand what types of reactions and behaviors they can expect from their children as they experience the loss of divorce. We believe that it will assist parents in supporting their children through this difficult time. This guide is being distributed for free by the Circuit Court of Cook County to divorcing couples with minor children. Although this guide will be helpful to all divorcing parents, the target group is middle and low-income divorcing parents with limited access to, and general unfamiliarity with, legal services in general and family law disputes.
