Every day, the Union League Civic & Arts Foundation (CAF) challenges itself to maintain the tradition of excellence pioneered by its founders in 1949. It is through this world lens that we work to directly transform the lives of Chicago’s talented and often underprivileged youth in the Chicago Metropolitan area. In partnership with our Board, Donors and Members, we continue to enhance every program we develop, every child we mentor and every talent we discover. The following is only a snapshot of our impact.
My first steps in the art world started because of you ... winning the competition that day meant so much for me ... not only because of the economic help, but because of the feeling that 'it's possible' and the ambition that it grew in me ~ Angel Otero in response to CAF’s impact on his life and work

There is something so noble and moving about the Union League Civic & Arts Foundation. I have always deeply respected their dedication and supreme efforts towards supporting artists in the Chicago community ~ Phyllis Bramson

Thanks to your support, we will continue to leverage efforts into thousands of hours of legal assistance for poor and low-income individuals and families ~ Susan Curry, Former Executive Director of PILI (Public Interest Law Initiative)

It gives rise to the spread and support of us as artists as well as our art practice, for one can't just make art they need to have the opportunity to show their work to the world and the Union League [Civic & Arts Foundation] has given us that chance. ~ Matthew Avignone, 2010 Visual Arts Competition Finalist

It was one of the proudest moments and one of the best nights of my life. [Jennifer] might not be in college like all of her firends because of our lack of finances, BUT she's only 18 and now she's a PUBLISHED WRITER! ~ Bev Benyamin, Mother of Jennifer Benyamin, third place winner in CAF's 2011 Creative Writing High School Division
